We Have Walls: More news from the construction front

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! This is the first year in a few that we’ve spent at home due to the construction. It was worth it though, not only for the quiet holiday (although we missed family and friends) but also because so much is happening around here and each day it looks a little more complete.

They’re shooting to be finished early next week (since we had a delayed start, they’re trying to get things finished up as efficiently as possible so as to try and stay within the original 3-week project timeline as well as get us back to having livable spaces again.)

Our new lights are in and the walls or I should say the drywall is up and everything has been spackled, sanded, and primed.

We even got the first coat of paint on the walls on Tuesday evening. After living with walls open to studs for more than a week, I’ll admit it was a bit bizarre seeing everything closed in and all the walls up.

The tile for the bathroom floor is also in and the tile for the shower should be finished today.

It still feels like there is a lot still to be done even if this is the home stretch. (Is it cheesy to use the term home stretch when you’re talking about a home remodel? I think it might be just a little, but in that case, pun intended.) What’s left is still most of the little details that still need to be taken care of like door and window trim and painting the nursery. While I’m trying to be patient, I’m so excited for our remodel to be completed so I can show off our new second floor!
